Dominant Perspectives of Affiliate Marketing in India

After UK and US, India is the right place for affiliate marketers. There are two dominant perspectives that help in assigning the status and put forth the benchmarks in the industry. One of them has to do with the growing need of media attention or exposure. The other perspective stresses on the way mass communication is practised in this country.Affiliate marketing is a business function. In affiliate marketing, the seller and the customer are brought in contact with each other and the interaction is facilitated to bring into play some concrete action by the customer. Affiliates, who are actually web site publishers provide for the interaction. The medium used is web site and the messages are the content that appears on the web site. Popular media in this country has matured enough and the advancements are quite comparable with international standards. Newspapers, magazines, radio, television, cable television have reached the zenith. Most of the marketing and advertising happens over these media. The consumption of popular media contents is immense and the impacts are seldom measured. Though Internet made its entry quite early in this country, but the services are still non-standard. It is one of the major setbacks for affiliate marketers and web based business enterprises. To put a point further, the content on the web is taken too casually by the local population. Even the credible information and well substantiated facts have to overcome several walls of distrust and misconception. The awareness levels continue to remain at the bottom. This casual attitude of the people and low awareness level limits the scope of marketing and promotion on the Internet. On the other hand, the business has been doing well in the country. In fact India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world, and major part of that growth comes from sound trade and commerce practices. Thousands of companies are competing ferociously in the market. The contenders do need media exposure. As popular media is expensive and advertising and affiliates marketing campaigns demand huge capital, there is definitely ample space left for alternative media. The challenge is not making them aware of their needs but try to persuade them for adopting the alternatives. Affiliate marketers who can do that would be the new leaders controlling the virtual marketplace.
